This post was created in partnership with Casa de Campo Resort, but all opinions are my own!
Casa de Campo is an all-inclusive beach resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic. If you’re looking for the perfect tropical vacation destination, look no further! Casa de Campo offers elegant hotel and villa accommodations, making it perfect for couples and families alike.

Each room includes a personal golf cart. The resort itself is incredibly expansive, spanning several miles of beaches, golf courses, and villa neighborhoods. With a golf cart, it’s easy to explore the various parts of the resort, including the Altos de Chavon village, Minitas Beach, the Marina & shopping area, and more! Here are just a few of the activities and experiences available when you book a stay at Casa de Campo!
Soak up the sun at Minitas Beach
Minitas Beach is a private beach exclusively for guests of the resort. With beautiful, clear blue water and soft white sand, this is easily one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited. The resort offers various beach amenities, including two pools and all-inclusive food and drinks at the onsite food trucks and beverage cabanas. There is also a beachside restaurant (Minitas Beach Club, not included as part of the dining package but worth a visit), and various water sports available to resort guests as well.

Lounge and dine by the pool
In addition to the Minitas Beach pools, the main pool (located just outside the check-in lobby) features several private cabanas, a swim up bar, and “butler service.” After a long day exploring Minitas Beach and Altos de Chavon, it was so nice to relax in a cabana while the waiters brought fresh juice and snacks to our area… all included of course!

Explore Altos de Chavon
An especially unique part of the resort are the Altos de Chavon. This space was designed to look like a 16th century village, reminiscent of medieval Spain. With an impressive outdoor amphitheater, several shops and restaurants, and gorgeous views of the river below, this is a beautiful spot to spend an evening.

Snorkel or Sunbathe on Catalina Island
One of the highlights from the trip was the day trip to Catalina Island. About 30 minutes’ boat ride from Minitas beach, the Beach at Catalina offers an even more secluded, picturesque space to sunbathe in the sand. For most of the morning, I got to enjoy views of turquoise waters while sipping on coconut water fresh from the coconut.
The resort also offers snorkeling gear for exploring sealife within a short swim from the shore. I have an aversion to fish and all things scaly/slimy, but if snorkeling is your cup of tea, this is one of the best places to do it!

All-inclusive dining
If haven’t already noticed, one of my favorite aspects of Casa de Campo is the all-inclusive dining service. Now, I’ve been to resorts and cruises where the food all seems the same, and is usually served in the same buffet-style cafeteria-like restaurant. At Casa de Campo, guests are encouraged to try out different restaurants across the resort property, each with a different menu and theme. There were so many options, we did not even have time to try them all!
I highly recommend making restaurant reservations before your trip instead of waiting until you arrive. Especially during COVID, restaurants were social distancing and complying with local curfews, making it much harder to secure a reservation on the day. I was still able to eat some amazing food throughout the trip, and here are just a few highlights:
- Breakfast at Lago- with panoramic views of the famous Teeth of the Dog golf course and tropical plants surrounding the patio seating, this place feels like being up high in a tree house. Breakfast options are endless, an elevated continental breakfast!
- Lunch and Dinner at La Caña- The hotel’s signature restaurant offers all day dining within footsteps of the lobby and hotel rooms. We ate here twice, as the location is convenient and the menu changes every day. After a few days of endless food and drink, it was nice to unwind here with a non-alcoholic juice cocktail and small bites.
- Minitas Beach Food Trucks- I will always love food truck food, but this experience was especially fun. There are two food trucks at Minitas, and I ordered a pizza and fries from the Massa truck. Once I ordered, the staff asked me to return to my beach chair, where my food was hand delivered to me by a waiter. When I tell you there is no better feeling than eating a whole pizza while reclined on the beach- this is my definition of paradise.
- Dinner at Causa- this Peruvian restaurant is known for modern latin fusion cuisine. I enjoyed a delicious meat and plantain bowl with a view of the nearby marina.
